A House in Yazd

Yazd, Iran / 2017
Villa / Competition

The architecture and texture of the city of Yazd consist of open spaces, half-open spaces, and closed spaces, and the composition of these spaces, which is functional, has created pleasant harmonies in this climate.

The challenge of dealing with the geometry of the site plan was providing a situation in which we could have a more suitable place for living. The central courtyard, regarded as the main element of vernacular architecture in Yazd, has been located in the center of the site plan, with independent access like a corridor given to it from the corner of the site.
